The Calgary International Feria del Disco
We are proud to support our local and foreign musicians. This festival will have a CD released every year, as well as live music performed out in the open. We will fuse musicians locally, provincially and nationally to collaborate on the production of this CD. The purpose of the festival is to give talented local musicians an opportunity to have their own ideas exposed to the public. We would like to support the musicians by helping to make their dreams a reality and to create what possibly may be their first CD. This festival will give value, promotion and support to these artists.
“Feria del Disco” means “Festival of the Record”. It is about a celebration, enjoying live music and the release of the musicians’ CD’s. Although this is a Spanish name, we will have a variety of music representing a range of genres. You can take pleasure in listening to original music played by bands with their own musical arrangements. You’ll see that by the end of the night your body will be moving to the beats of Latin Jazz, Afro Cuban, R&B, Funk Jazz, Flamenco, Tango and Contemporary music, played by our very own musicians. Come out and witness, listen and enjoy the talents that Calgary has to expose.
